Scope of Service

Virtual English Teacher (VET) is an academic service that provides numerous services, including paraphrasing, rewriting, word count reduction or expansion, editing, and referencing error correction. We also assess your work to provide advice on how a paper can be improved.

This document contains the scope of our services. In the document, we aim to help you understand the services we provide and the services we do not provide. Please take time to read the document and familiarise yourself with our services. Placing an order after reading this document is an indication that you agree with the terms laid in this document.

1. RESPONSIBILITY
As an academic editing and rewriting service, we strive to assist students to enhance their work as much as possible. On this basis, we do not write essays on behalf of students. We only accept work that has been done by a student if such work needs editing, paraphrasing, rewriting, or reference correction. We also make no guarantee that any paper we paraphrase will come back with 0% plagiarism. However, if a paper we have paraphrased shows more than 20% plagiarism on Turnitin, we will take the job as a re-edit and reduce the plagiarism percentage without any extra charge. We also make no guarantee that any work we edit will have zero mistakes. However, we work hard to ensure that all jobs we do have zero mistakes and will be willing to correct any mistakes you notice in any paper we edited without any extra charges.

2. RE-EDITING
We consider a re-edit to be a job that we have worked on, sent to you, and you have things that need to be changed, which we may have missed in our first edit, rewrite paraphrasing, or reference check. Your work is only accepted as a re-edit if a supervisor or marker has not yet seen it. This implies that when you receive the work from us, you have 14 days from the time the work is delivered to you to let us know if anything needs to be changed. We will only re-edit issues that were included in your original instruction. For instance, we will not redo a job because you want it to have a certain number of words when you initially did not provide that instruction. Any work that a supervisor or marker has already seen will be treated as a new job. Any work that is sent to us after 14 days of being delivered will also be treated as a new job. Treating a job as a new job means that a new invoice will be generated.

Below are details of the services we offer. Any of these services can be offered as a combination. For instance, a paper that requires paraphrasing will also get edited and reference checked at no extra charge. However, a paper that needs editing will not be paraphrased, but the references will be checked if they are included in the requested word count.

3. PARAPHRASING
Paraphrasing is a way of taking other people’s ideas into your own words while retaining the meaning of the source. When we assist with paraphrasing your work, we intend to help you show that you understand the ideas advanced by the original author and explain the ideas in a more simple way. We work on the document to ensure that your writing flows naturally and coherently. The main aim when we paraphrase is that the new document we send to you has less than 20% plagiarism, which is what many universities take as an acceptable threshold for plagiarism. If your university requires a lower percentage, please let us know at the time when you send in your work.

In the paraphrasing service, our job is to reduce plagiarism, but we do not take responsibility for determining whether there is plagiarism or not in the original copy. If you have a Turnitin report, it would be advisable to send it to us so we have an idea of the content flagging as plagiarism in your paper. We will send a plagiarism report with your paraphrased paper. Because we do not have access to Turnitin, we use basic plagiarism checkers. Therefore, we make no guarantee that when we say that there is a certain percentage of plagiarism, it means that the same will be found on Turnitin.

To ensure that you get the best service available, we advise you to do the preliminary work required to structure your paper. This means that you need to avoid just copy-pasting stuff from different sources. This can make it a challenge to string your ideas together, considering that we are not always experts on all the subjects we assist students in paraphrasing. While copy pasting is ok, you can still structure the content in a coherent way and including sentences in between to indicate how you want the copy pasted content to be interpreted.

We offer a guarantee for all the work we paraphrase. If there are any sections you find in a paper we have worked on that you are not satisfied with, we will do them again at no extra fee. However, all the issues need to be raised in the first revision request. Any new issues that come after the first revision request will be treated as new work.

We always paraphrase work using academic writing because most students approach us because they prefer our academic writing style. However, if you want the writing to be more basic and use more everyday language, please let us know.

When we paraphrase your work, there is a possibility that the word count can increase. If you have a certain word limit, please inform us when you submit your work. However, our service does not include additional research to add more content to your paper (Please refer to the word count service below for more details).

4. WORD COUNT
Before we start working on your paper, we would like to know if there are any word count limits. For instance, we want to know if there is a minimum or maximum word count. If this information is not provided when you order a service, our default assumption will be that there are no word limits. If you send us your paper and tell us what the word count limits are and we do not follow that instruction, we will redo that job without any extra charge.
Other helpful information that could assist in getting you the best service is to inform us if there are any words or phrases that need to be maintained. This is usually easily done by highlighting that content in the original paper you send to us. If you have the instructions from the university about how the paper should be written, we would also appreciate having those instructions so that they guide us as we work through your paper.

4.1. WORD REDUCTION AND WORD EXPANSION
In the process of paraphrasing your work, we could either reduce or expand the word count. However, this service does not include doing additional research to find more content. We expand or reduce the content you already have in the paper.

We will expand the word count under the following conditions:

We make no guarantee that when you ask for a 1,000-word expansion, we will be able to get to that word count. However, we will do our best to add as many words as possible in the direction of the requested word count.
We will expand the ideas provided in a bullet point list and rewrite them as paragraphs.
We do not provide the word expansion service to write up an entire essay. We only offer this service for sections within the essay that you may be struggling with.

We need to reiterate that expansion is not always possible. It depends on how well the parts you need to be expanded can be increased. Also, the request for expansion should be to a reasonable limit. For instance, it will not be possible to expand a 2,000-word document into a 5,000-word document, but it would be possible to expand a 4,500 document to a 5,000 or 5,500-word document.
As part of the word reduction service, we will read through a large piece of work and then rewrite it to summarise the word limit you have provided us. It is vital that you provide us with a clear objective of why you want to summarise the work so that we know which content is essential.

5. HEAVY EDITING
This service includes editing and proofreading your work. When we work on your paper, we aim to improve the structure, rewrite sentences that may be confusing, create an easy flow of the writing, ensure that the writing style is appropriate for the target audience, and ensure that the argument is as straightforward as possible. We look out for any repetition and inconsistences and ensure that appropriate language is used. International students usually use this service to improve their grades in essays and dissertations.

This service includes:

Correcting grammar, punctuation, spelling mistakes, and typographical errors (typos)
Replacing basic terms with more academic ones.
Changing colloquial language (language that is informal and conversational) into academic language.
Proving comment boxes in instances where the writing is not legible enough for the editor to make corrections.
Rewriting sentences to make them flow better.
Improving the overall argument in a paper by giving paragraphs better balance and structure.

If there is a need, we also provide feedback when we submit your paper, usually covering the following:

Highlight areas that could benefit from additional references.
Give an idea if the way you have structured your paper meets the requirements of the question.
Suggest possible improvements that could enhance the paper.
Pinpoint parts of the paper that need additional content or where content should be removed.

6. REFERENCING
Our service looks at both in-text referencing (referencing within the paper) and the final list of references. With this service, we aim to ensure that all the ideas you borrow from others are adequately referenced. We understand that plagiarism is an extremely serious matter and will do everything in our power to ensure that the ideas of others are appropriately referenced.

Once you have written your essay and provided the references, we will assist you in ensuring that the references meet the referencing style accepted by your university. We understand that the way you approach references can determine whether your paper is a pass or a fail or if it gets a distinction or ordinary pass.

We only correct the references that are already in your paper. The references should be arranged in alphabetic order before you send in your paper for reference correction. This ensures that we do not spend time arranging references but rather doing the work or ensuring that the references are done correctly. Our service does not include researching on behalf of students to find new references.
